Just a random (that’s for you, Uncle Two Belts) smattering of things we’ve been into lately.
The brown bear hoodie – Cute, cute, cute. Whoever thought up the toddler hoodie is a kid-fashion genius.
Cell phones – Poppa keeps his phone in his shirt pocket. Murrow knows this. Murrow digs it out, plays with it, and replaces it in the pocket.

Silly Auntie Ali (does she know we call her that) “tagged” Momma and Poppa with a blogging questionaire thingamajigamadoodle. But Momma and Poppa don’t have blogs of their own, so Murrow will be taking this one for the team. HA!

Today Jasmine (Murrow’s nanny) had to call in sick…meaning Poppa gets to have his first full-day alone with Murrow. Not to let this opportunity go to waste, Murrow was wisked off to the zoo for some giraffe feeding, gorilla watching, and stroller pushing (see the previous video) mayhem.

In the past couple of weeks, Kim and I have been acutely aware of how much Murrow is growing up. He’s going down the slides (mostly) himself. He can now climb on the bed and couch all by himself. He was using a fork (pre-spiked with food) today. He’s growing out of all his 12-month clothing … and he looks so cute in his new jammies … he looks like he’s ready for Saturday morning cartoons.
Way back when Murrow wasn’t eating so well, we stopped trying to sign with him because the whole thing was just too frustrating, and we never picked it back up. Recently, though, he started holding out his hand palm-up and curling his fingers, also known as the international sign for “Gimme”. Ok, so it’s not the most polite of communications, but it works both ways; when I want Murrow to hand over something, I can just curl my fingers right back at him, and he’ll fork it over.

When Poppa leaves for work, Murrow says ba-bye and waves (it’s kind of a backwards wave, more at himself than at the object of the ba-bye) and blows kisses. At this point he’s all smiles and giggles. About 5 minutes before the nanny gets here, Murrow starts getting clingy and whiny, not letting me get more than 5 feet away from him. When the nanny get here, the crying and puppy-dog lip-curling start. No kisses or waves for me.
