The gifting extravaganza started early with Jasmine bringing what seemed like a carload of presents for Murrow (a couple for us, too). The crazy Curious George train remains one of Mo’s favorites, and loudest as well.

Christmas Eve night, we each opened one one gift (as is tradition in our house), and Murrow found a very, ahem, energetic key toy from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Alison.

Christmas morning, the rest of the gift tonnage descended, so much so that we had to break up the work into two shifts. Uncle Two Belts and Aunt Diane helped out with the early shift, the one in which Murrow re-enacted that scene from the Christmas Story. You know, the one with the bunny suit.

All in all, it was a HUGE haul. Several batches of farm animals. Things to draw on. Things to draw with. Things to draw in. Tables. Chairs. Tractors. Trains. Clothes for sleeping. Clothes for playing. Clothes for making lots of noise (don’t ask). Clothes for looking very dapper, indeed. Wooden dinos. A plastic kitty. A howling, singing dog. Ringing reindeer. Slippered reindeer. An eerily realistic racoon. And a trike. With a steering bar. Because why would you want a trike WITHOUT a steering bar.

Thank you to all who contributed to the mess in our living room today. We were glad to contribute to yours.

Murrow’s preferred way to drive a scooter is to sit backwards on it, while pushing himself backwards. I guess that means that he’s going forward…good job kiddo!
